If you are a novice user, we recommend that you read the basic operating instructions for Loomo before using the robot for the first time.
Powering on/off
The round button at the (front) base of Loomo's body will power Loomo on/off.
Before powering Loomo on, please stand Loomo upright using the lifting handle. Push the power button, and Loomo will automatically activate its self-balancing ability.
Note: Please do not let go of the handle before Loomo activates its self-balancing ability.
When powering Loomo off, please first grasp the lifting handle. Press the power button, and then gently lay Loomo down.
Note: As soon as you power Loomo off, it will deactivate its self-balancing ability. Please brace the robot with your hand to ensure it does not topple over.
Switching modes
The button on the top of Loomo's head will switch between SBV (self-balancing vehicle) and robot modes. Simply press the button to switch.
Alternatively, you can also switch modes by tapping the "Transform" button in the home page of the Loomo mobile app.
Manually pushing Loomo
If you need to manually push Loomo through a complex environment, you can do so by placing your hand directly on the top of Loomo's head. There is a pressure-sensitive area marked by a line on its head - once Loomo senses your hand there, it will emit a beep that signifies you can begin manually pushing Loomo. Please note that you should leave your hand on Loomo's head throughout the duration of pushing.
You can push Loomo forward/backward by simply pushing its head forward/backward, or to either side by twisting its head left/right.
Once you lift your hand off of Loomo's head, it will emit another beep to signify that it has exited manual pushing mode. At this point, please do not try to manually control Loomo until you place your hand on the correct area once again.
Picking Loomo up
We recommend that you pick Loomo up in Grasp the lifting handle on Loomo's back side and lift up with one hand
Returning to Loomo's home page
The two black pads on either side of Loomo's head are its home buttons. You can quickly exit the current page and return to Loomo’s home page by tapping either pad lightly.
Charging Loomo
If you are a novice user, we recommend that you read the charging/battery instructions before operating Loomo for the first time.
Charging
There is a power display screen underneath the power button that displays Loomo's current battery status. Underneath this screen, there is a waterproof rubber cap that protects the charging interface. Open this cap to charge Loomo.
Before charging, please first power Loomo off. After Loomo is powered off, lay Loomo down with the charging interface facing upwards.
Connect the charger to the transformer brick and then plug it into your power supply. The transformer indicator light will turn green.
Connect the charger to Loomo, and the transformer indicator light will turn red. The power display screen will indicate Loomo is charging. Once Loomo is fully charged, the transformer indicator light will turn green.
Low Battery Alarm
When Loomo’s battery level drops to 10%, it will send a low battery notification. Loomo will automatically rotate its head and display "Low battery" on its screen. You must tap OK to indicate that you're aware of the low battery situation before the notification can be dismissed.
When Loomo’s battery level drops to 0%, it will emit an alarm. At this state, Loomo cannot be operated anymore. If you are riding at this moment, be sure to get off immediately; if you are not riding, Loomo’s head cannot be rotated into robot mode, and it will send out a warning alarm continuously. Please charge Loomo to dismiss the alarm.
